Practice Golf With An Artificial Putting Green
Out of all of the synthetic grass and artificial turf break throughs that have been taking place around our sporting arenas and playing fields in the last ten years, there’s one that really stands out as being most likely to affect me personally. I’m never likely to play top level football or soccer and my baseball days are long over, however as a golf fan I can say with confidence that I have every chance of trying out the odd artificial putting green.
With the improved technology of these artificial grass products, it sounds as though there are artificial grass putting greens that can be set up to simulate just about any golf course you can imagine. The great thing about these putting greens is that the cost isn’t totally out of reach for your average person, like me, to get one installed in their backyard.
All you need to put an artificial turf putting green in the backyard is some flat ground and enough room to put a decent sized area in. Once that’s done, you will be able to enjoy the pleasure of simply walking out of the back door onto your own golf practice area. As well as using the green as a putting green you could also allocate a part of the backyard as the chipping area and chip balls from there onto the green.
With many different types of putting greens available it is possible to buy artificial grass that has been made to be identical to some of the top PGA golf courses. Because the grass on real golf courses has been manicured to the point where it is like carpet, it’s not such a stretch to be able to make an artificial grass that is also as smooth and well manicured as carpet. Putting a few small slopes and dips in the surface will help to give the green some added interest as well as creating a level of difficulty.
Now the golf handicap can truly be slashed with plenty of opportunity to practice the short game, which is where the bulk of the golf shots are saved or lost.
