Men’s Designer Sunglasses
These days fashion for men is equally as important as fashion for women. More and more men are becoming aware of the importance of their overall get up. Of course, part of the get-up is the shades. Surprisingly, men have strong preferences for the pricey ones. They dig the designer labels even at such high cost. For whatever its worth, they should be getting quality and durability for it.
Among the top sunglasses brands that men are getting their hands on are Ray Ban, Versace, and Armani not to mention Gucci, Chanel and Christian Dior. And let’s not leave out Marc Jacobs mens sunglasses. Prices depend on the materials used in the manufacture, the design, the designer, and the brand. They can start humbly at around fifty dollars and can be as expensive as you can imagine.
When considering buying men’s sunglasses, your main concern should be the frames that hold these glasses. There are three common types of men’s sunglasses frames:
- Plastic, which is lightweight but not durable;
- Stainless steel, heavier weight but durable; and
- Titanium which is a combination of the features of plastic and stainless steel but costs a bit more than the other two.
The lenses are of equal importance to the frames and can be made from plastic, polycarbonate or glass. Plastic lenses are safer and lighter but are easily scratched. Glass lenses are durable, resistant to scratching and heavier but can be dangerous when smashed. Polycarbonate lenses are tinted to add protection from the sun’s glare, durable and lightweight but are priced higher than glass and plastic.
Lenses have different features. Polarized lenses have the highest glare reducing ability as they redirect the sun light back to the atmosphere. Gradient lenses have permanent shading that lets you appreciate different kinds of light. Transition lenses adjust tint randomly. All these lenses, however, have UVB and UV protection for your eyes.
Moving onto the style of sunglasses, you can find specific designs for certain types of people. For example, sports enthusiasts prefer wrap around and oval designs. Men in combat choose aviator shades, whilst some prefer sleek designs or thick framed sunglasses. You can learn more about what is available by visiting your local optical store or searching online.
For sunglasses fanatics, there is one pressing question for you when you are going to spend your money. How much are you willing to pay? If you are the type who forgets where things are placed, then you might consider buying the cheaper ones but if you are a keeper, then you can opt for the designer brands and dive in for whatever its worth.
