Labrador Puppies For Sale – Who Could Resist?
The term ‘golden labrador puppies‘ is a misnomer, say those-in-the-know. There is no such thing. Labrador puppies can be yellow, chocolate coloured and black. Any other shades are simply tones of these. The Labradors some of us call golden, should be called yellow.
Whatever their colour, Labrador puppies have several common factors. They grow up to be fast, athletic, boisterous, intelligent, fun-loving, food-loving dogs. And, unfortunately, they are prone to a range of health problems when older: hereditary diseases and weaknesses can include hip dysplasia, aching knees, cataracts, occasional deafness and ear infections (because of their floppy ears).
Unless the diet is strictly controlled, obesity is also a possibility with the breed. Labradors, of whatever colour, should be weighed on a regular basis. Their food treats should be severely curtailed. Being overweight puts strain on the heart and other vital organs. Having said that, they can grow to a ripe old age if they don’t suffer from any of these ailments.
Labrador puppies for sale are loveable and utterly irresistable. As they grow up, they are very easy to train because of their willingness to please. Being very intelligent dogs, they learn quickly. Although yellow is the number one choice for many people, chocolate labrador puppies come a close second.
These dogs make excellent playmates for children and for other household pets. They don’t normally terrorise cats, rabbits, birds or fish, so soon become a valued an indispensable part of family life.
Brown – or chocolate-coloured – Labradors are traditionally chosen for field and sports events. They show up well against the grass, and fallen leaves. They do well at agility classes. And they look great on T-shirts. Various companies offer a choice of men’s, women’s and children’s casual wear featuring brown labradors. You can also get some very attractive prints and posters featuring pictures of labradors.
